MATEC is a recognised major player in the voltage distribution field. In line with its successes as a HV equipment supplier, it actively pursued turnkey HV substation projects for NPC and MERALCO. This led to the award of several 230 kV and 115 kV substations ans was highlighted by a 500 kV substation.

On account of the rising cost of real estate in Metro Manila, MATEC was one of the promoters for MERALCO's change to compactly designed European modern high voltage and medium voltage indoor Gas Insulated Switchgears.

For the conventional outdoor substations of variuos utilities such as MERALCO, VECO and CEPALCO, MATEC dominated for years the suppy of medium voltage SF6 power circuit breakers.

Consonant to its efforts in the utility field, MATEC penetrated the industrial and commercial market with compact, reliable and safer equipment for indoor power centres. It was in the vanguard in bringing into the country the technology for now standard cast resin transformers and medium voltage vacuum circuit breakers for indoor power centres.

The crown jewel of all of MATEC's indoor substations installations was the design, engineering, fabrication, installation and commissioning of seven (7) double ended indoor power centres for the world famous New Istana Palace of the Sultan of Brunei. For its efforts, MATEC was honoured and recognised as the pioneer in the export of power substations from this country.
